Country Style Ice Cream – the Quad Cities-based ice cream business – has opened its first store outside the QC region.
An ice cream shop recently opened at 501 Pekin Ave., Creve Coeur, Illinois, located south of Peoria. This opening represents a significant milestone in the company’s history as it brings its signature flavors and time-honored recipes beyond the Quad Cities area to a new and growing community, company leaders said.
“We are excited to introduce Country Style Ice Cream to this growing community in the Peoria area and look forward to creating sweet memories here,” said Kent Kindelsperger, CEO of Country Style Ice Cream. “We’re particularly optimistic about the opportunity to establish deep roots in Peoria and bring our handcrafted desserts to even more families. Our hope is that Country Style can become a cherished part of everyday life in this community, just as it has been in our hometown.”
The new store had its grand opening on May 1. The store features outdoor seating and a walk-up window, designed to serve customers looking to enjoy a treat on the go or gather in the sun with family and friends.
With its inviting storefront and commitment to friendly service, the company aims to create a welcoming space for ice cream lovers of all ages, the company said in a news release.
Brian Davis, the owner of Creve Coeur Country Style Ice Cream, added: “It’s a huge milestone for me and my two kids, Audrey and Trip. We really appreciate everyone’s support, especially from the village. We’re excited for the great things ahead.”
Country Style Ice Cream was founded in 1947 in Moline by two brothers, Wayne Lindgren and Chester “Whitey” Lindgren. Mr. Kindelsperger purchased Country Style in 1988.
It also has locations in Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, East Moline and Coal Valley.
