Comcast this week announced plans to expand its fast network to the Quad Cities, bringing Comcast Business’s high-speed, symmetrical Internet, cybersecurity, and other advanced technology solutions to the area for the first time. This investment also marks Comcast’s first infrastructure investment in Iowa, making it the 40th state in the company’s national footprint.

The expansion will roll out in phases across key business corridors in the Quad Cities, including Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island, as well as Davenport and Bettendorf. Construction is currently underway in Moline and Davenport, and the first businesses in the initial phase are expected to have service available in the coming months. Comcast will notify businesses when service becomes available at their address.

Upon completion, Quad Cities businesses will have access to Comcast Business’s suite of connectivity solutions, including Internet speeds up to 100 Gigabits per second (Gbps) over Ethernet, Advanced Voice and Advanced Security. Comcast Business is a leading provider of advanced technology solutions, delivering reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity to help businesses of all sizes thrive in today’s digital economy.

“From local storefronts to multinational enterprises, Comcast Business provides the connectivity and technology solutions businesses need to compete and grow,” said Chris Smith, Comcast’s regional senior vice president. “We’re proud to provide the Quad Cities with the speed, reliability, and security that millions of business owners count on every day to help them stay connected and protected – all delivered over the nation’s most intelligent broadband network. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the local business community.”

“Comcast Business’ expansion into the Quad Cities is a significant win for our business community,” Peter Tokar III, president and CEO, Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. “As the Quad Cities was recently named the Technology Community of the Year by the Technology Association of Iowa, we know that reliable, high-speed connectivity is essential for growth, and we appreciate Comcast’s investment in our region.”

“This investment reflects the continued momentum of Iowa’s business climate,” said Nicole Crain, president of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry. “Comcast’s presence will help Iowa businesses stay at the forefront of technology and contribute to an even stronger, more competitive regional economy.”

Comcast has invested more than $80 billion over the past decade to grow and evolve its next-generation network nationwide. This latest investment underscores the company’s commitment to supporting business growth and innovation in communities across its service footprint.
