Coffee and Community Conversations Offered March 26, 27 & 30

The Rock Island Public Library and Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department are working on community plans for 2025, and want to hear from users and non-users of their services at three meetings this week.

The two city departments are working together to offer three Community Conversation events. The open listening sessions will allow the public to add their voice into community planning, and help both organizations respond to community and user needs. Discussion times are:

  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, Rock Island Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th St.
  • 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, Rock Island Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road.
  • 10:30 to noon Saturday, March 30, Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th St.

“Partnering with the Rock Island Parks & Recreation Department for the Community Conversations makes perfect sense. Both of our organizations enhance the livability factor of our community, so hearing how best to focus our efforts in the coming years will aid in planning and future partnerships,” said Angela Campbell, director of the Rock Island Public Library.

All discussions are open to anyone. Coffee and refreshments will be available.
