
CLINTON, Iowa – An international business magazine has selected this community as a “Top 10 Mississippi River Corridor.”
Site Selection Magazine is an internationally circulated business publication covering corporate real estate and economic development. The Quad Cities region also was named among the top regional corridors on the magazine’s list.
The rankings include all metro regions along the Mississippi River Corridor. They are based on corporate facility investment projects that meet specific criterial, the magazine said. Projects that qualified between July 2022 and December 2023 had at least $1 million invested, at least 20 jobs created, or at least 20,000 new square feet of operational space.
Clinton ranked No. 4 in the magazine with total projects per capita. Projects included a $308 million investment at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) with the construction of a new corn wet mill and an $18 million investment from Merrill Steel in the former TMK IPSCO Camanche, Iowa, plant. And most recently, the construction of a $224 million state-of-the-art asphalt shingle manufacturing plant by Atlas Roofing Corporation in the Lincolnway Industrial Rail & Air Park.

Big River Packaging was also recognized for its 2022 $6 million facility expansion as was Nestlé Purina Petcare Company for $156 million in manufacturing and warehousing advancements.
Clinton tied for 10th in total projects along the entire Mississippi River Corridor. “We often find ourselves future-focused and don’t frequently stop to reflect on our many successes,” Andy Sokolovich, president and CEO at Grow Clinton, said in a news release.

The Greater Clinton Region remains primed for development, Grow Clinton said in the release. And the organization continues to work to recruit and retain employers through active outreach and retention visits to existing companies. The 501(c)(6) Non-Profit tourism, economic, and community development organization serve the Greater Clinton Region. It s funded by investment and membership from over 400 businesses and individuals.
