A chicken restaurant chain is looking to expand. And it wants to expand to Davenport.
Chick N Max – a Wichita, Kansas-based chicken chain restaurant – wants to open 50 new restaurants in the Midwest and South in the next two years. Iowa is part of those expansion plans.
The company is seeking qualified single and multi-unit franchisees to expand in various markets, according to Chick N Max founder and CEO Max Sheets. They include:
- Iowa – Five to seven restaurants in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Sioux City, Davenport, and Iowa City. (Potential sites and possible opening dates have not been announced.)
- Kansas – Six to eight restaurants in Topeka and the Kansas City portion of the state.
- Minnesota – Upwards of 10 restaurants across the Twin Cities metro area.
- Missouri – Five to seven restaurants in metro St. Louis, Columbia, and the Missouri side of Kansas City.
- Oklahoma – Four to six restaurants across the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas.
- Texas – As many as 10-12 restaurants in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
“Solidifying our franchise expansion is a milestone we can feel proud about reaching in just a few short years since our launch in 2018,” Mr. Sheets said in a news release. “Now, we’re excited about turning the page to this next chapter of our evolution and look forward to bringing our innovative take on chicken to new markets across the central United States.”
The restaurants will occupy between 1,500 to 2,400 square feet of space and include indoor and outdoor seating for as many as 80 customers.
New formats for the restaurants will also cater to off-premise sales with drive-thrus, designated curbside pick-up parking spaces, and take-out counters. In addition, the prototypes will feature an enhanced digitized experience – including digital menu boards and GPS-enabled curbside pick-up, all integrated with the company’s mobile app, according to a restaurantnews.com report on the possible expansion.
Including a franchise fee of $35,000, the total investment to open a Chick N Max restaurant ranges from $650,000 to $2.5 million, the report added.
Chick N Max was established in 2018 by Mr. Sheets in Wichita, Kansas. It currently has about 40 restaurant sites across the country.
