The Center for Active Seniors (CASI) has chosen chef K.C. Ross as its new culinary operations manager. Her first day was Monday, Nov 4.
Known around the Quad Cities for her dynamic culinary expertise, community advocacy and New York hustle, the culinary artist known as Chef Keys brings an inspiring commitment to fostering connections through food, CASI said in a news release.
With a background in hosting bespoke chef’s table-style dinners and a passion for culturally rich, organic, and heavily seasoned cuisine, Chef Keys is expected to elevate CASI’s culinary offerings. She also will create an inclusive, vibrant dining experience for the Quad Cities community, the release said.
Chef Keys has built a reputation not only as a chef but as a passionate community leader, educator and advocate. Through her “Bee Nourished” program and collaborations with local schools, nonprofits and businesses, she has provided chef-crafted meal kits to food-insecure residents.
Her journey in the kitchen is fueled by a desire to uplift and empower others, while preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
As CASI’s culinary operations manager, Chef Keys will leverage her talent, love for community, and innovative spirit to enrich the dining environment for CASI members. She also will redefine what it means to serve food with purpose and connection. Her unique blend of New York roots and global tastes will make a lasting impact at CASI, inviting Quad Citizens of all backgrounds to experience the powerful role food plays in creating community.
CASI provides services that enhance the lives of seniors and community members throughout the Quad Cities. The nonprofit offers a variety of programs, resources, and support services designed to enrich the lives of older adults.
