GENESEO, Illinois – This Father’s Day weekend, the 2023 Geneseo Music Festival will bring musical performances, food and family-friendly activities to this Henry County community.
The 55th annual event – which takes place this year from Friday to Sunday, June 16-18 – features the popular annual Father’s Day Musical Festival Parade sponsored by Geneseo Communications. It is set to step off in downtown at 1 p.m. Sunday.
“The parade is the perfect opportunity to celebrate with fathers, grandfathers, and uncles with a classic Midwestern summertime festival backdrop,” the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce said in a news release announcing the event. “It offers a chance for Geneseo and guests to come together and enjoy the festive spirit.”
Event organizer Zack Sullivan, of the Geneseo Chamber, added “We are thrilled to bring this festival to Geneseo and provide a fun and memorable experience for all attendees. The Father’s Day Parade is always a crowd favorite, and we are excited to see the community come together for this special occasion.”
For music-lovers, the weekend festival features a wide range of musical genres, including rock, country, jazz and blues. Foodies will encounter vendors offering dishes from different cultures. Festival-goers also can participate in activities including carnival games, crafts and gifts from more than 60 vendors at the City Park Craft Fair, and more, city leaders said.
