MUSCATINE, Iowa – CBI Bank & Trust has donated $250,000 to support the Mulberry Health Clinic Project, the Muscatine-based bank announced Friday, June 9.
In a news release, CBI said the donation recognizes the critical importance of accessible and state-of-the-art medical facilities as well as underscores its unwavering commitment to enhancing the well-being and quality of life for Muscatine area residents.
“The cornerstone of CBI Bank & Trust’s role as a community bank is working to improve our communities. Every year, we provide financial support to many worthwhile projects and organizations doing great work where we live,” CBI Bank & Trust’s President and CEO Greg Kistler said in the release. “We are proud to support this significant project that will provide improved healthcare to our community for years to come.”
The Mulberry Health Clinic Project is led by Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine in partnership with UnityPoint Health – Trinity Muscatine and the Muscatine Health Support Fund. The project will directly and immediately expand and improve patient equity and care, creating multi-generational, social, and economic success for families in our community.

“We are grateful for the generosity of CBI Bank & Trust and many other individual and business donors who recognize the importance of local, quality healthcare,” Jamie Leza, the foundation’s vice president of operations, said in the release. “The support garnered for the new clinic is one more example of how Muscatine County community members work together to improve quality of life for all residents.”
The bank’s donation comes on the heels of news Friday, June 2, that CBI’s parent company Central Bancshares Inc. is acquiring Moline-based SENB Bank from the McLaughlin Holding Co.
CBI serves 40,000 consumer and business clients through 17 offices in eastern Iowa and west central Illinois. The SENB acquisition, when completed, will add another six banking locations to CBI in the Quad Cities region and the state-line (Rockford/Beloit) region of Illinois and Wisconsin.
