Business Continuity Workshop is Nov. 17

CLINTON, Iowa — Help your business prepare for an unexpected emergency or disaster at a Business Continuity Workshop on Friday, Nov. 17, at Grow Clinton, 721 S. Second St.

Nearly one in three businesses are impacted by a disaster throughout their time in business, according to the event website, and some 75-80% of businesses do not have a disaster plan. Of the impacted businesses, 40% fail to reopen after a disaster, and another 25% fail within the first year, the website states.

The free workshop — which will run 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Grow Clinton with lunch provided — will offer businesses in Clinton County and surrounding areas valuable tools to assess and mitigate threats before they become disasters, according to Grow Clinton’s news release. It also will include techniques for businesses to plan for continuity and recovery.

Attendees should bring laptops to the event, which is hosted in collaboration with Clinton County Emergency Management and the Safeguard Iowa Partnership.
