The Bubble’s Boba Tea shop has permanently closed its downtown Davenport location inside the Scott Community College Urban Campus building.

Bubble’s Boba Tea leaders announced the closure on the company’s Facebook page Tuesday morning, July 2.

Thank you for your support. We appreciate all of our loyal customers and amazing staff. You can still come see us at Niabi Zoo. We are in the process of finding a location with more parking access. Though we have loved our time with SCC,” according to the Facebook announcement.

The business offers a wide variety of teas and other drinks. Its menu at the downtown Davenport location also included breakfast wraps, avocado toast, flatbread pizza and more.

Bubble’s opened in the urban campus at 101 W. Third St. last year and held a grand opening ceremony on Sept. 29.

“Some of the (tea) flavors here are just wildly popular,” said Jen Hart, the business owner, during last year’s grand opening.

In addition to a location at Niabi Zoo, Bubble’s is also in the process of opening sites in Lake Forest, Illinois, and Orange Beach, Alabama, according to the business website and Facebook page.

“Bubble’s Boba Tea was founded with a mission to introduce culture, diversity, and delightful flavors to our small town. Our initial venture in Defiance, Ohio, began as a mobile food truck, offering a wide range of drinks, desserts, and, of course, our signature bubble teas.  … In 2022, we relocated to the Quad Cities, specifically Long Grove, Iowa, and rebranded as Bubble’s Boba Tea Co. Since then, we have experienced tremendous growth, expanding to operate two successful locations in the Quad Cities area,” the website said.
