Megan Brown-Saldana is taking her leadership skills to a new role with Humility Homes & Services, Inc.The Lead(h)er executive director is leaving the women’s mentorship program to become the new donor relations director for Humility Homes, a Davenport-based nonprofit dedicated to providing housing and support services to the homeless community in the Quad Cities.“We are delighted to welcome Megan Brown-Saldana to the Humility Homes & Services, Inc. family,” Joshua Graves, Humility Homes’ new marketing development director, said in a news release. “Megan’s passion for making a positive impact and her proven expertise in donor engagement will play a pivotal role in enhancing our fundraising initiatives and strengthening the relationships with our generous supporters.” In her new role, Ms. Brown-Saldana joins the marketing and development team and will work closely with existing supporters while cultivating new relationships.Her extensive experience in nonprofit management and her commitment to helping vulnerable populations aligns with the core values of Humility Home. In the release, the housing agency described Ms. Brown-Saldana as a highly accomplished and compassionate leader with an impressive background in nonprofit management and community development. At the helm of Lead(h)er since January 2020, she advanced that nonprofit organization’s mission to empower women and girls through mentorship and educational opportunities. During her tenure, she has overseen the matching of more than 400 women with mentors. She hosted Lead(h)er’s first college intern, grew Lead(h)er’s income by 150%, and expanded its partnerships to gain resources to assist women in achieving their personal and professional success.“Megan has been instrumental in the growth and success of Lead(h)er over the past several years,” Anika Martin, Lead(h)er board president, said in the agency’s release announcing her departure.Ms. Brown-Saldana also was among the members of the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal’s first class of 40 Under Forty honorees.“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of Lead(h)er and the remarkable journey we have shared over the past three years and seven months,” Ms. Brown-Saldana said in Lead(h)er’s release. “Mentorship is a tool that can change the world and I am so excited to be able to pass the torch to another individual that is ready to take our recent successes forward.”The Lead(h)er Board announced it is launching a search for a new executive director and is working with a selection committee to find the best possible match. More details are expected to be released soon. According to Humility Homes leadership, Ms. Brown-Saldana’s experience in building strategic partnerships, implementing successful fundraising campaigns, and fostering a strong sense of community will enrich its philanthropic efforts.Founded by the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, the organization has been actively working to address homelessness and its root causes in the Quad Cities. It offers a range of services, including emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing – all aimed at empowering individuals and families to achieve stable and independent lives.“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Humility Homes and Services,” Ms. Brown-Saldana said. “This incredible opportunity allows me to be an agent of social change to help end housing insecurity and further equity in the Quad Cities.”Her last day with Lead(h)er is Aug. 24.
