Mike Boddicker has been named as the new information technology (IT) director for the City of Davenport.

Mr. Boddicker, who most recently served as IT specialist for the Army Contracting Command for the Rock Island Arsenal, brings IT infrastructure management expertise from both the public and private sectors, the city said in a news release Friday, Dec. 5.

In his new role, Mr. Boddicker will lead the technology and cybersecurity operations that support the city’s essential public services. His first day with the city is Monday, Dec. 22.

“Civil service has been a rewarding career path for me,” Mr. Boddicker said in the release. “I intend to strengthen the enterprise’s cyber posture and adopt a more forward-thinking approach to how we conduct business, while remaining fiscally responsible and mitigating risk.”

The city said Mr. Boddicker will be responsible for ensuring the secure, efficient, and compliant functioning of IT resources and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align technology initiatives with the city’s goals.

“Mike is a strong leader who will both meet the immediate needs of the IT Department and move the city’s technology forward,” Tim Gleason, Interim City Administrator Tim Gleason said. “His experience and fresh perspective will help streamline and secure the city’s IT processes and systems.”

Mr. Boddicker earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology and a master’s degree in cyber security management from Purdue University Global.
