Blain’s Farm & Fleet’s 45 retail stores – including Davenport and Moline – will celebrate 70 years of service with an anniversary celebration Saturday, Sept. 13.
In recognition of the Janesville, Wisconsin-based company’s milestone, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has officially proclaimed Wednesday Sept. 17, as Blain’s Farm & Fleet Day. To view the complete proclamation, visit here.
Also to mark the event, Farm & Fleet will hold a 70th Anniversary Sale from Thursday, Sept. 11, to Wednesday, Sept. 17. Shoppers can look for weeklong savings across departments and commemorative products, including exclusive 70th Anniversary items from Carhartt, Yeti and others.
Blain’s Farm & Fleet began in 1955, when brothers Bert and Claude Blain opened the first store in Janesville. Over the past seven decades, the retailer has grown from a single storefront to 45 stores across four Midwestern states: Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan. Through it all, Blain’s has remained family-owned and headquartered in Janesville.
The governor’s proclamation also highlighted Blain’s enduring commitment to community causes, from supporting 4-H and FFA to hosting pet adoption events, leading the Bert Blain Memorial Heart Walk, and partnering with numerous local charities in the communities it serves.
“We’re honored that the State of Wisconsin has recognized Blain’s Farm & Fleet with an official proclamation,” Kristin Stewart, Blain’s chief customer and marketing officer, said in a news release. “It’s a meaningful way to celebrate this milestone year, and it reminds us how deeply connected we are to the neighbors we serve.”
As part of the 70th Anniversary Sale, all 45 stores will hold a Birdhouse Build-Along Workshop on Saturday at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Kids ages 6–12, with a parent or guardian, can build and take home their own birdhouse.
