Black Hawk College recently earned the Great Place to Work certification, a national recognition based on employee feedback, the college announced in a press release on Monday, June 9.
The college said the certification reflects its commitment to a positive, inclusive and supportive environment. The honor stems from an anonymous survey by Great Place to Work, which the college described as the global authority on workplace culture.
“This certification is a testament to our dedicated faculty and staff who work every day to create an environment where students can thrive and employees feel valued,” Black Hawk College President Jeremy Thomas said. “Our people are the heart of our success.”
The 2025 employee survey showed high marks in areas such as community, teamwork, trust in leadership, and pride in the work done for students and the region.
“This recognition validates the work we’ve done over the past two years to build a culture based on trust, collaboration and opportunity,” Human Resources Director Vince Luley said. “We’re committed to continuing this momentum and ensuring that Black Hawk remains a place where people want to build their careers.”
The certification is based entirely on employee feedback and is awarded to organizations where a high percentage of employees report a positive workplace experience.
