Better Health Foundation offers grants information session

Nonprofit organizations across the Quad Cities region are invited to participate in a virtual information session with the Better Health Foundation to learn about their Innovation grant opportunities.

The session will be from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, Jan. 10, 2025.

The Better Health Foundation plans to award Innovation grants for programs and services aligned with the private foundation’s current funding priorities: mental and behavioral health, risk reduction of obesity and diabetes, and maternal and child (up to 5 years) health. Innovation grants will range from $100,000 to $200,000.

Qualified 501(c)3 organizations providing services in these counties may be eligible: Cedar, Clinton, Louisa, Muscatine and Scott counties in Iowa, and Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside counties in Illinois.

To receive a link to join the Virtual Information Session, contact Elaine Schilling at

Last month, the foundation awarded $900,000 in grants to 20 nonprofit organizations, and $200,000 to a new project that could transform how area nonprofit organizations operate, relate and collaborate to better serve families in need. In June, the foundation awarded Innovation Grants of nearly $1.4 million to area nonprofit organizations. In the past year, it has awarded more than $2.9 million to nonprofit organizations.

The Better Health Foundation is mobilizing philanthropy to measurably improve community health for all residents in the nine-county greater Quad Cities. The private, independent foundation seeks to engage community members in improving their health and the health of their neighbors.
