A new 288-unit apartment home complex is being planned for north Bettendorf in an area already exploding with commercial growth called The Plex.

That project, known as Authentix Bettendorf, is being built by Continental Properties, which announced in a recent news release. The complex is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2025.

Construction is scheduled to start soon at the northwest corner of Forest Grove Drive and International Drive, which is just west of the TBK Bank Sports Complex

Pre-leasing for Authentix Bettendorf is set to begin next winter when people may visit the property and view apartment finishes and floor plan options. (Go here for more information on leasing and the apartments.)

The facility is being called a garden-style residential community by Continental Properties, which is headquartered in Menomonee, Wisconsin. It will include apartment homes with studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plan options.

Some of the amenities will include: a resort-like pool; community clubhouse; coffee bar; a 24-hour, state-of-the-art fitness center; and a leash-free dog park with a pet spa. All apartments are pet-friendly with no weight limit.

“We’re excited to introduce Authentix Bettendorf to this vibrant community,” Eric Gumm, Continental Properties vice president of acquisitions, said in the company’s release. “Situated within the Forest Grove Landing master-planned community and adjacent to the TBK Bank Sports Complex, residents will enjoy convenient access to retail, dining, entertainment and employment nodes nearby.”

That area, often called The Plex and located just south of Interstate 80 around Middle and Forest Grove roads, is growing at a staggering rate. It has about 50 businesses – with a lot more on the way – and is attracting out-of-town visitors by the thousands who are bringing in millions of dollars into the local economy every year, according to City of Bettendorf officials.

Heather Riggs, Continental’s vice president of multifamily operations, added: “Our community is located just two miles away from Continental Properties’ sister community, Springs at Bettendorf, and we are committed to delivering the same level of exceptional customer service that our residents have come to love.”
