As the holidays quickly approach, Western Illinois University-Quad Cities and Bethany for Children & Families are partnering for a Giving Tree toy drive event at WIU’s Riverfront Hall, Moline, to help provide gifts for area children in need.
To participate in the Giving Tree toy drive, visit Riverfront Hall on WIU’s campus at 3300 River Drive, choose an ornament from the tree outside Student Services, purchase a new and unwrapped gift worth up to $30, and return it to the WIU-QC Student Services desk by 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.
In a news release from WIU, the organizations are encouraging Quad Citians to “be a light in your community” by joining the cause. By participating, you will be giving a gift to a child who might not otherwise receive any, the release states.
Multiple gifts may be purchased per ornament, but it is not necessary.
