
The “Battles of the Businesses” event will take place in the Redstone Room at Common Chord, 129 N. Main St., Davenport, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
The annual fundraising event, which costs $40 per person, features live music and assorted chocolates provided by Lagomarcino’s. Expect surprises, collaborations, and a whole lot of fun as these professionals battle it out and seek the coveted Golden Microphone, the organization said in a news release.
All proceeds raised from this fundraising event will directly benefit the youth of the Quad Cities through providing music education and enrichment programming. (Go here for more information on the show and to buy tickets.)
During the event, Quad Cities business and community leaders will perform musical numbers.

Common Chord programs
Common Chord provides a variety of educational and enrichment programs to area youth designed to provide access to musical experiences and build positive relationships. Examples include:
- InTune Music Mentorship Program – Professional music mentor cultivating knowledge, friendships and support networks with MLK Community Center, the YWCA, Rock Island Boys & Girls Clubs, Moline, Friendly House, Scott County Family Y, and The Lincoln Center, Davenport.
- Jerry Brown Acoustic Music Clubs – Inclusive Music enrichment for youth and adults of all abilities with: Empowering Abilities, Goodwill of the Heartland, Empower House, Davenport, Blackhawk Special Education Center, East Moline ARC of the Quad Cities, Rock Island.
- Kidstock Summer and Ellis Kell Winter Blues Music Camps – Teaching students the art of teamwork and creative problem solving
- RiverCurrents Music Education Programs – Free school sessions teaching river and QC music history to every Davenport schools fifth grader.
- Let’s Band Together! – Repairing and loaning instruments across QC school districts For free.
