“There were a lot of moving parts to get this together. … This building was taken down to the bones,” Matthew P. More than 50 business leaders attended the ceremony on a sunny, hot Friday morning, June 14.Mr. Bollinger did not disclose the cost of the renovation project, only that it cost “a lot.” During the ceremony, he praised the project’s contractors and subcontractors for getting the building renovated on time and “mostly” on budget. “Things are expensive today,” he added.Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce officials and East Moline Mayor Reggie Freeman welcomed the new BankORION Operations Center to the community.Mr. Freeman joked that he will be happy to keep an eye on the new banking facility. “That’s because you have me as a neighbor. I only live a minute from here,” he added.Bank officials began looking for a new operations center building about two years ago, and made the decision to move into the Kennedy Drive building about a year ago.The move is part of the bank’s growth plans and ultimate goal to give the best services to its customers, bank officials said.“Our customer base has grown over the past several years and the manner in which we need to serve our customers and employees has also evolved. The new facility is equipped with additional technology and offers expanded space, enabling us to improve our efficiency and continue delivering exceptional service to our customers. This strategic move is part of our long-term growth strategy, ensuring that we remain competitive and responsive in a rapidly evolving financial landscape,” Mr. Bollinger said in a news statement before Friday’s ceremonies. Here are some details on the new facility:
The building spans 11,000 square feet and was built in 1993.
About 30 employees are working in the building.
The building is the former office of McClure Engineering Associates, Inc.
The renovation work was completed in April and bank employees began moving into the updated building in May.
