Award nominations sought for immigrant business owners, champions 

The Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit (IES) is seeking nominations to recognize outstanding immigrant entrepreneurs and champions who have made an impact on their wider communities. CREDIT IMMIGRANT ENTREPRENEURS SUMMIT

The Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit (IES) is seeking nominations to recognize outstanding immigrant entrepreneurs and champions who have made an impact on their wider communities. 

If you know of immigrants that exemplify resilience, innovation, and success, share their story by submitting a nomination on the IES website. Nominations close Friday, July 19.

There are four categories of awards:

  • Immigrant Entrepreneur Leadership Award: A first-generation immigrant who has demonstrated leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit in his/her professional and family life and on behalf of the immigrant and /or larger community.
  • Outstanding Immigrant Business Award: An immigrant-owned (at least 50% ownership by first generation immigrant) business that serves as a model and inspiration of success in both profit and philanthropy.
  • Karen L. Evans Immigrant Champion Award: A non-immigrant individual or an organization (business, government or nonprofit) dedicated to making a positive impact on the immigrant community.
  • Immigrant Spirit Award: A first-generation Immigrant who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to professional business excellence and altruistic pursuits.

Selected award recipients will be recognized Saturday, Nov. 16, during the luncheon at the Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit 17th Annual National Summit. The summit will be at the DMACC FFA Enrichment Center at 1055 SW Prairie Trail Parkway in Ankeny, Iowa.

Their stories will be shared in order to inspire others and highlight the achievements of the immigrant business community.

In addition, IES is also hosting an Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit in Moline on Thursday, Sept. 12. It will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vibrant Arena at the Mark. Follow this link for more information.
