A new president for Augustana College will be introduced at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Lindberg Center on the Rock Island college campus.
The presidential transition will occur on July 1, 2022.
The college’s new leader will replace Steven Bahls, who announced in January he will retire from the position effective July 1. Mr. Bahls started his career as president in the summer of 2003.
“It has been the highlight of my professional life to serve Augustana College, and I look forward to my next great adventure,” Mr. Bahls said in a news release.
The search for a ninth Augustana president began soon after Mr. Bahls announced his retirement. A search committee was formed that included trustees, faculty members, administrators and a student representative.
