Augustana film program hosts director Frank Harts

    Augustana College Film Program and the Film Club will host acclaimed actor, writer and director Frank Harts from 1-2 p.m., Monday, March 10, at the Olin Auditorium, 733 35th St., Rock Island. 

    The event, which is free and open to the public, will include screenings of Mr. Harts’ award-winning short films “Be True to Your School” and “Two Wongs,” which premiered at more than 10 festivals and recently received distribution. 

    A question and answer session will follow as well as a masterclass discussion on the industry actor/director relationship. Some content may include adult language. 

    Mr. Harts, a graduate of Rock Falls (Illinois) High School, stars in the Academy Award-nominated film “Rustin;” the series, “Prodigal Son” as JT Tarmel; the upcoming Netflix series “The Beast In Me,” starring Claire Danes; and the final season of “PowerBook III: Raising Kanan” for Starz. On Broadway, Mr. Hart acted the role of George Murchison in the Tony Award-winning production of “A Raisin in The Sun.”
