The Arconic Foundation presented a gift of $30,000 to the Girl Scouts to support outdoor STEM programming for girls at summer camp, according to a new release.
“Summer camp is an essential experience for Girl Scouts. We appreciate Arconic’s consistent support of our outdoor programs,” said Diane Nelson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
“Their donation helped create science, technology, engineering, and math learning opportunities for girls at camp. The outdoors is a great setting to build STEM skills.”
Girl Scout summer camp is a unique space. It’s where girls with different backgrounds, abilities, and experiences come together to have fun and learn new skills.
With the support of trained and caring staff members, Girl Scouts build their confidence. They develop a passion for the outdoors, and discover independence.
