American Power Systems, Inc. (APS) is celebrating 20 years in business.
The Davenport-based APS, located at 426 W. 2nd St., designs and manufactures advanced mobile power systems and auxiliary power units (APUs) for armored, commercial, marine and purpose-built specialty vehicles.
As part of that celebration, APS will host a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at the Davenport company.
Founded by the late Thomas K. Evans in 2006, APS was created to fulfill a growing need for high power alternatives for a wide range of vehicles. Quickly gaining a worldwide reputation for quality, innovation and expertise, APS became the trusted partner of a variety of governmental agencies and companies around the globe.
In March 2020, APS was honored as Small Business Exporter of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Region VII office, which represents Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. To date, APS products have been used on more than 10,000 vehicles across multiple continents, including Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and Australia.
