The Quad Cities Cultural Trust (QCCT) is inviting those in the performing arts to seek a chance to take center stage at the historic Adler Theatre in downtown Davenport.
The QCCT, a nonprofit organization dedicated to championing the region’s cultural vitality, announced it is now accepting grant applications for the 2024 Adler Theatre Fund (ATF). Applicants should have compelling and well-organized proposals that demonstrate financial sustainability, collaborative spirit, and a commitment to cultural vitality through a performance or series of performances at the Adler.
All applications and funding requests will be reviewed by the QCCT Board of Trustees. It will then will determine this year’s grant recipients. The number and amount of grants will be based on the health of the QCCT’s financial portfolio.
“We are excited to receive as many applications as possible from organizations that feel they can offer programming that creates a destination worth experience as the Adler Theatre is known for,” QCCT Executive Director Jen Lewis-Snyder told the QCBJ.
The ATF Grants are available to any 501(c)(3) organizations. Alternative funding is available to those without nonprofit status. Applications open each summer and funding decisions are made in the fall by QCCT’s trustees.
In 2021, the Adler Theatre Foundation partnered with the QCCT and officially became the Adler Theatre Fund. This partnership allows the foundation to continue its mission of supporting diverse programming at the Adler while utilizing the QCCT’s administrative capabilities.
Fueling QC’s vibrancy
“QCCT is the leader enriching art and culture for all, and the Adler Theatre Fund is a key ingredient in that recipe,” Ms. Lewis-Snyder said. “We are excited to receive applications that will fuel both the Adler Theatre and our region’s vibrancy.”
Founded in 2007 to support six core cultural organizations in the Quad Cities, the QCCT’s mission is to advocate, promote and facilitate enriching arts and culture for all. Its Legacy Partners are: Common Chord, Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum & Science Center, all in Davenport; the Quad City Botanical Center and Quad City Arts, both in Rock Island; and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, also headquartered in Davenport.
The Adler Theatre Fund is separate from the funding process of the QCCT and its Legacy Partners.
“We are committed to sustaining and enhancing our quality of life and sense of place by increasing support of our Legacy Partners as well as welcoming new organizations and initiatives into our fold,” Ms. Lewis-Snyder said in a previous QCBJ story.
According to the QCCT, the Adler Theatre Fund is a pivotal part of this mission. The fund is designed to both support diverse and vibrant programming while showcasing the Quad Cities region’s outstanding talent and creativity.
