The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) is accepting nominations for the 2025 Legends in Manufacturing Awards.

“Now more than ever, it’s important to recognize the people who make Iowa manufacturing what it is today,” ABI President Nicole Crain said in a news release. “The Legends in Manufacturing Awards honor individuals whose leadership, innovation, and commitment have shaped the success of their companies and the strength of our state’s economy.”

Launched as part of ABI’s Elevate Iowa Manufacturing initiative, the awards honor up to four outstanding leaders in Iowa’s manufacturing community. Nominees should have made a lasting impact on the industry through innovation, leadership, and service.

In 2024, ABI awarded its longtime leader Mike Ralston with the Manufacturing Champion Award. Mr. Ralston retired at the end of 2024 after nearly 20 years at ABI.

Two years ago, ABI presented one of its Legends awards to John Riches, then community relations manager for Arconic Davenport Works in Riverdale, Iowa. He was called a steadfast champion of the manufacturing industry. Mr. Riches retired earlier this year after 33 years at Arconic, previously Alcoa.

ABI said these awards recognize individuals whose dedication strengthens their companies, workforce, and the state’s economy. The 2025 winners will be recognized during a luncheon ceremony Tuesday, Oct. 14, as part of the Iowa Manufacturing Conference.

Nominations, which are open to the public, must be submitted by Friday, Aug. 15. There is no limit to the number of nominations a person may submit. To submit a nomination and view past honorees, visit ABI’s website here.
