Funeral home will be built in Clinton

CLINTON, Iowa – Law Jones Cremation and Funeral Care has announced plans to build a new funeral home in this community.

Construction on the new 6,000-square-foot building at 1130 13th Ave. North will begin soon. The construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the new funeral home will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the site. The event is open to the public.

The ceremony will be hosted in partnership with Grow Clinton, the region’s economic development advocate.

Speakers will include Grow Clinton President and CEO Andy Sokolovich and Law Jones owners Levi Jones and Matthew Jones. Light refreshments will be served.

The Clinton facility will include modern technology in its celebration of life chapel as well as family lounges, amenities, decedent care center, and a spacious parking lot.

“We are happy to call Clinton our home. This new location continues our family’s mission to provide compassionate, dignified and innovative care for all families,” said Levi Jones.

“Law Jones has served our region for decades, and we’re excited to welcome them to Clinton,” said Mr. Sokolovich. “From our first meeting, their family’s dedication to service and vision for growth stood out — along with the development that builds around their new locations.”

In addition to its new Clinton location, Law Jones has funeral home facilities in the Illinois communities of Lanark, Savanna, Mount Carroll, Elizabeth, Thomson, Hanover, and in Preston, Iowa.
