LECLAIRE – The 38th annual Heartland British Autofest is set for Saturday, Aug. 2, on the levee in this community.

The event goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free admission for spectators. Show registration and car clean-up is from 9 a.m. to noon. Voting by participants must be completed by 1 p.m. The awards presentation is at 3 p.m.

The annual event, presented by Quad Cities’ British Auto Club, showcases an array of classic British cars including elegant Jaguars, Land Rovers, MGs, Triumphs and Mini Coopers among others. Organizers said the meticulous attention to detail and the passion for British automotive heritage are evident, making it a must-visit event for the family and car enthusiast.

DJ Daniel Stratman will provide a music mix. Famous Dave’s BBQ food truck will be on site for food purchases, along with food from LeClaire restaurants.

“Longest Distance” and “Top Twenty” plaques will be awarded. A trophy will be awarded for “Best of Show.” Entrants must be present to win. If not present, the next highest vote count wins.

“Longest Distance” is the distance driven in an Autofest registered vehicle calculated by GPS from the entrant’s home address to the show site. All entrants will be included in door prize drawings. The first 50 entrants will receive dash plaques.
