Zaxbys, the Georgia-based quick-service restaurant franchise known for its Chicken Fingerz and other dishes, is looking to expand to the Quad Cities. The entrance into the region is part of an expansion to the Midwest.

“The Quad Cities are recognized for their strong community ties and steady population growth, while the mix of urban and suburban landscapes offers an ideal environment for a concept that blends bold flavors with fast-casual convenience. Demand for high-quality, memorable dining experiences continues to rise throughout the Midwest, and Zaxbys aims to meet that demand with its scalable, adaptable models,” according to a Monday, June 23, news release from All Points Public Relations, the public relations firm for the restaurant chain.

Zaxbys is currently seeking qualified franchise partners to lead its entry into Iowa. With no Zaxbys restaurants currently operating in the state, the Quad Cities represent a ground-floor opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to introduce a nationally recognized brand to an untapped market, according to the release.

A potential opening date and location for the new restaurant have not been released. All Points representatives on Monday told the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal that once a franchise partner is signed, it takes three to five months to finalize the franchise agreement. From there, it generally takes 12 to 15 months until the first store is open.

“Zaxbys’ franchise model features flexible restaurant designs suited for high-traffic retail areas, with adaptability based on site availability and community needs. Backed by a comprehensive support system, strong brand loyalty, and a menu that drives repeat visits, the brand presents a compelling opportunity for both longtime operators looking to diversify and first-time franchisees,” the release said.

Zaxbys has more than 970 locations in 17 states and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The restaurant chain was founded in 1990.
