Mel Foster Co. School of Real Estate is offering Iowa pre-license real estate courses this summer for new professionals looking to start or enhance their career in real estate and for existing Mel Foster Co. sales associates needing continuing education credits.
These three required courses are part of the 60-hour education requirements to obtain an Iowa Real Estate Salesperson license.
The local, in-person courses will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Mel Foster Co.’s office located at 3249 E. 35th St. Ct., Davenport. Go here to register and for more information on the classes.
Course dates are as follows:
- Listing Practices: Thursday and Friday, July 17-18. This course familiarizes students with effective listing practices in residential real estate. Topics include: preparing Competitive Market Analyses, estimating net proceeds, conducting listing presentations, managing contracts, marketing listings, handling offers, and providing services throughout the closing process.
- Buying Practices: Thursday and Friday, July 24-25. Covering every facet of the buying process from a Realtor perspective, this course includes buyer qualification, financing, client interaction, drafting offers, and closing responsibilities. Acquire invaluable insights into each stage of the buying transaction, ensuring a smooth process from beginning to end.
- Developing Professionalism and Ethical Practices: Thursday and Friday, July 31- Aug. 1. Explore the nuances of professionalism and ethical standards in real estate through our comprehensive courses. Delve into critical topics such as ethical challenges in today’s real estate landscape and the teachability of ethics. Our program not only meets Iowa’s licensing criteria but also fulfills NAR membership renewal prerequisites.
The courses are offered free of charge to pre-affiliated Mel Foster Co. sales associates or those planning to affiliate with the real estate company.Â
To qualify for an Iowa Real Estate license, applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass a background check, hold a high school diploma, and complete both the Iowa and National real estate exams. A Mel Foster Co. pre-affiliated agreement is required to attend these courses at no cost.
