Quad City Arts announced Wednesday, Oct. 23, that Kady Derbyshire has been appointed as interim executive director of the organization.
Ms. Derbyshire, who has served as the organization’s operations director for over a year, will step into the leadership role to replace longtime executive director Kevin Maynard, Quad City Arts said in a news release. Mr. Maynard is leaving to take a job to promote the arts at Florida State University. His last day at Quad City Arts is Friday, Oct. 25.
According to the release, Ms. Derbyshire has worked closely on the organization’s financials and has been highly involved in the planning and execution of the Festival of Trees, which the nonprofit said is pivotal at this time of year. Her familiarity with both the operational and financial aspects of the organization ensures a smooth continuation of Quad City Arts’ efforts.
She is committed to maintaining the organization’s momentum through this transition, ensuring that its programs and community impact remain strong and forward-moving, the release said.
“Kady’s deep understanding of our organization’s mission and values, combined with her passion for fostering community connections, makes her the ideal person to ensure the continued success of Quad City Arts,” Mr. Maynard said in the release. “Her dedication to both artists and the community makes her the perfect person for the continued success of Quad City Arts.”
“Kady has consistently demonstrated her strength as a collaborative leader and problem solver,” added Nate Augustine, the board president. “Her thoughtful approach to tackling challenges, along with her passion for the arts, makes her an excellent choice to lead Quad City Arts through this transition.”
In her new role, Ms. Derbyshire will focus on continuing the organization’s impact, programs, and events along with Quad City Arts’ major fundraiser Festival of Trees as well as sustaining the organization’s high standard of artistic excellence.
