The Quad Cities-based IMEG has expanded its national footprint again, this time with the acquisitions of Atlantec Engineers of North Carolina and Colorado-based Innovae.
In a news release Tuesday, Oct. 1, IMEG said the two firms joined the national full-service engineering consulting firm. No financial details of the transaction, which was completed Tuesday, were announced.
Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and founded in 1992, Atlantec Engineers has provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design and services, as well as energy modeling, on a wide variety of projects in the commercial, health care, sports and recreation, housing, and historic renovation and restoration markets.
Innovae is a multi-discipline industrial engineering design company founded in 2016. It provides innovative and sustainable engineering solutions to life science, food and beverage, and other FDA-regulated and commercial manufacturing clients.
‘Fantastic’ additions
“Atlantec Engineers and Innovae are fantastic additions to our team,” IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne said in the release. “Their high-quality design and client-centric approach align perfectly with IMEG. Atlantec’s MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) focus helps expand our service offerings in the Southeast, while Innovae deepens our bench of expertise in their areas of specialization and owner rep services.”
Atlantec Engineers Principal Brad Felts will serve as a client executive. The firm will continue to operate out of its existing Raleigh location. It will initially do business as Atlantec Engineers, now IMEG. Principals Jim DelPapa and David Whitney will remain an integral part of IMEG’s Raleigh team. Innovae President Dan Weisiger will continue to serve as the client executive for his team. It will operate from its existing locations in Centennial and Boulder, Colorado, doing business as Innovae, now IMEG.
The latest acquisitions add 13 staff from Atlantec and 22 from Innovae to the growing IMEG.
The employee-owned IMEG operates from 94 offices with a total of 2,800 team members. IMEG is a Top 5 (#2) Engineering Firm in the U.S. (BD+C) and ranked # 52 on ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms list.
