Illuminating Concepts, a full-service lighting design studio in Farmington Hills, Michigan, has joined Quad Cities-based IMEG.
The merger will help both firms expand architectural lighting design and procurement services across the country, IMEG said in a news release Monday, Aug. 5.
Illuminating Concepts has provided the design and implementation of award-winning lighting systems for architectural, retail and environmental applications since 1981. The firm has a staff of 15. It works on a wide variety of projects in the commercial/retail, gaming and entertainment, hospitality, sports & recreation, and corporate markets.
“We’re very excited to have Illuminating Concepts join our firm,” IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne said in the release. “Their lighting design expertise and procurement services are fantastic additions to our existing architectural lighting portfolio, and their client-driven focus mirrors IMEG’s approach.”
Mr. VanDuyne added that Illuminating Concepts’ capabilities will help position IMEG’s lighting group to expand nationwide.

Illuminating Concepts joined with the growing Quad Cities engineering and design firm on Thursday, Aug. 1. It will continue to operate out of its existing location in Farmington Hills, with existing leadership and team members. The firm will continue to do business as Illuminating Concepts, a division of IMEG.
