
Downtown Silvis will be bustling with activity on Saturday, Aug. 3, as the city’s Summer Fest takes place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Summer Fest will feature a variety of family-friendly events throughout the day. Activities will be held at the site of McClintock Trucking & Excavating at 1701 1st Ave.
The Silvis Summer Fest schedule includes:
- Pancake breakfast fundraiser, 8 a.m. to noon, hosted by the Silvis Fire Department and Silvis Lions Club, $8.
- Car show, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine), sponsored by The Triangle Inn. Gates open at 7:30 a.m., registration from 9-11 a.m. Entry fee is $15. Awards will be presented.
- Kid’s Zone & Bounce Boulevard, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes outdoor games hosted by the First Baptist church of Silvis, a Bounce Zone, and a backpack giveaway for the first 200 children – sponsored by Royal Neighbors of America and the Phipps Family.
- Food and craft vendors, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Live music, 5-8 p.m. with a live performance by Rabbit Hole, a danceable rock band.
Summer Fest sponsors include the City of Silvis, Silvis Public Library, McClintock Trucking & Excavating, Royal Neighbors of America, Triangle Inn, Miller Trucking & Excavating, Anchor Lumber, Weber Auto Group and the Phipps family.
