
IowaWORKS will host an educational hiring event to assist area school districts in hiring staff for the 2024-2025 school year.
The job fair event is on Thursday, June 6, from 9 am to noon at IowaWORKS, 1801A E. Kimberly Rd., Davenport. School districts participating include: Bettendorf, Davenport, Diocese of Davenport, Morning Star Academy, North Scott, Pleasant Valley and Rivermont Collegiate.
“Area schools are not just looking for teachers,” said Rick Ernst, operation manager at the IowaWORKS Davenport – American Job Center. “There are many other opportunities for job seekers like security officers, custodians, classroom assistants and more. We want to offer this opportunity to everyone that is currently looking for a job and also help with staff shortages in some of our local schools.”
Jobs that are in demand include: bus drivers, substitute teachers, secretaries, food service workers, nurses, athletic coaches, para-professionals, custodians, technology technicians, lunchroom supervisors and volunteers. All jobs are listed in iowaworks.gov, and job seekers can apply for them 24 hours a day.
IowaWORKS offers the following services to job seekers Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays, 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
