Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati is recommending the appointment of Daniel McNeil to fill the 6th Ward seat left vacant by the death of Alderman Pat O’Brien in December.
The Moline City Council will vote on the appointment at its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Mr. McNeil is executive director of Spring Forward, a Rock Island-based nonprofit organization that provides a safe, educational after-school environment for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University and holds a master’s degree in community and economic development.
