Dr. Garcia named Rosecrance chief medical officer

Dr. Raymond Garcia will lead medical services at Rosecrance as its chief medical officer beginning Jan. 1, 2024, the organization announced recently. 

Rosecrance, a nonprofit organization providing residential and outpatient services in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin, is a national leader in mental health and addiction treatment. In addition to its Davenport location, it opened a new clinic for outpatient mental health and substance use treatment for youth, young adults and their families in Moline last year

In his new role, Dr. Garcia will ensure all Rosecrance programs are aligned, and that the quality of care provided is of the highest standard, according to a news release from the Rockford, Illinois-based organization.

Dr. Garcia previously was senior vice president of medical services. He has been with Rosecrance for 13 years, and has 25 years of experience in behavioral health. A certified psychiatrist, Dr. Garcia has expertise in addiction medicine and has worked closely with patients in the first responder and veterans residential program in Rockford, Illinois, the release states.

Dr. Garcia also has served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and Rockford, where he recently was honored for 25 years of service.

“Dr. Garcia possesses unique qualifications as a physician and educator. Not only will Dr. Garcia build upon the best-in-class treatment provided by Rosecrance, he will work to improve our organization’s standing in the education sector and ensure we are implementing best practices to continue to provide our clients with the best care possible,” said Dave Gomel, president and CEO of Rosecrance.
