Moline Gardens info session set for Wednesday

An information session on the Moline Library Gardens project is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Moline Public Library.

The library is currently conducting a fundraising campaign for the roughly $1.4 million gardens project.

During Wednesday’s meeting, Library Director Bryon Lear and Development Manager Callahan Herrig will provide background on the gardens’ origins, unique features and timeline for completion. They also will discuss ways you can support the project.

The plan for the gardens includes walking paths, landscaping, a small outdoor stage, shaded meeting areas and a 16-panel interactive “story loop.”

Funding will come from a combination of a capital campaign, grants and contributions from local charitable organizations.
