For the event, all Whitey’s locations will donate half the sales from ice cream cones sold throughout the day.

“We are very happy to be holding the 37th annual Cones for Kids event to help support the programs and services offered by Bethany,” said Jon Tunberg, co-owner of Whitey’s Ice Cream, in a news release.

Christina McNamara-Schmidt, Bethany’s director of development and communication, notes in the release that Bethany continues to help families stay together, place children in safe and loving homes, and get homeless individuals into housing.

“The agency is grateful for its longstanding partnership with Whitey’s,” she said.

Whitey’s Co-Owner Jeff Tunberg said in the release the support the Quad Cities community has shown Bethany over the years through Cones for Kids has been amazing.

“Bethany is a fantastic cause,” he said. “We are proud to continue the tradition.”
