Grab your lawn chairs — the Downtown Bettendorf Organization (DBO) will again host the annual free Be Downtown outdoor event.
The annual DBO event will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Bettendorf’s 15th Street Landing, located at 15th and State streets.
The family-friendly event will feature live music, food trucks, bags tournaments with cash prizes, children’s activities and more, according to a news release.
Beginning at noon, there will be live music presented in two-hour sets with Doug Brundies, Threat Level Midnight, Panic River Band and Diplomats of Solid Sound. Late-night live music will continue at three downtown Bettendorf businesses, including Harley Corin’s, Purgatory’s Pub and Riverside Grille.
Verde, a Bettendorf contemporary Mexican restaurant, will offer food and an outdoor bar, and food trucks will be serving from noon to 6 p.m. Participating food trucks include Quick E’s Tacos, Schaa-Bo’s Korean Fusion, Smokin Goodness BBQ and Sweet Tooth Snacks.
The K&K Family Fun Zone (from noon-6 p.m.) will feature bounce houses, bubble stations and a hands-on science station by Absolute Science.
Bags tournaments – sponsored by Isle Casino Hotel and MidAmerican Energy – will be held at noon and at 3 and 5 p.m., with registration beginning one hour before each session, DBO said in the release. Cash prizes will be awarded for first ($300), second ($200) and third places ($100).
Street parking is available on State and Grant streets, plus at city and private parking lots throughout downtown, including:
- TBK Bank, 15th and Grant Streets, after 1 p.m.
- Asbury Methodist Church, 18th and Mississippi streets
- City of Bettendorf lot, 18th and Grant streets
- Bettendorf City Hall, State Street
- Former Village Inn, 1210 State St.
- Motorcycle parking on 15th street
