Dress for Success Quad Cities has received a $25,000 grant from the Regional Development Authority (RDA) to support the hiring and implementation of a Volunteer & Outreach coordinator position, the women’s networking group announced.
The RDA investment will strengthen the organization’s ability to serve more women throughout the region by expanding volunteer recruitment, training, and community partnerships. The new coordinator will increase service capacity by building and sustaining a strong volunteer force that ensures Dress for Success Quad Cities is fully staffed to meet growing client needs.
In a news release announcing the award on Monday, June 1, Dress for Success said volunteers play a critical role in delivering programs and services that help women achieve economic independence and career success.
“This generous support from the Regional Development Authority will allow us to expand our reach and deepen our impact throughout the Quad Cities region,” said Mikael Gibson, Dress for Success Quad Cities’ new executive director. “By strengthening our volunteer infrastructure and community partnerships, we can ensure more women have access to the resources and support they need to secure employment, retain jobs, and advance their careers.”
Last year, Dress for Success was awarded a $7,500 grant from the RDA for entrepreneurial support.
In addition to volunteer recruitment and training, the new coordinator will develop strategic partnerships with local employers, colleges, workforce agencies, and civic organizations to create a sustainable pipeline of volunteers. These collaborations will help ensure continued access to Dress for Success Quad Cities’ core programs, including interview and employment suitings, career coaching, professional development workshops, and group education opportunities.
The nonprofit said the funding reflects a shared commitment to workforce development and economic opportunity for women across the region.

The organization continues to see increasing demand for its services as more women seek assistance with employment preparation, career advancement, and economic self-sufficiency.
