For the sixth consecutive year, Culver’s restaurants are teaming up with the national river cleanup group Living Lands & Waters in East Moline in celebration of Earth Day.

On Wednesday, April 22, Culver’s locations across the Midwest are offering patrons a chance to support the LL&W organization by simply enjoying their favorite Culver’s meal.

The participating Culver’s will donate 10% of their net sales Wednesday to the Quad Cities-based organization founded by environmentalist Chad Pregracke. A total of 47 Culver’s restaurants will participate all day long, with an additional 43 locations joining the fundraiser from 4-8 p.m.

“Seeing Culver’s, their restaurants, and guests show up in such a big way for our rivers is something we never take for granted. It’s making a real difference out there, and we’re truly thankful,” Mr. Pregracke, LL&W founder and president, said in a news release.

The Earth Day celebration, which began as a modest fundraiser in 2021 with 13 locations, now has grown into a multi-state effort spanning eight states and 90 restaurants. Since its launch, the campaign has raised more than $150,000 in support of LL&W’s hands-on conservation initiatives, including large-scale river cleanups, tree plantings, and environmental education programs.

“Each year, since the inception of this partnership, I have been blown away by the generosity of the Culver’s Community,” Mike Martel, Culver’s owner/operator, said in the LL&W release. “Support has grown each year from the independent Culver’s owners.”

In addition, Culver Franchising and Culver’s Foundation have joined in the partnership offering their support and promotional assistance. “As we say in the Culver’s community, ‘Together we are better,’” Mr. Martel added.

Founded in 1984, the family-favorite Culver’s has grown into more than 800 restaurants in 25 states.

Since 1998, Living Lands & Waters has worked toward the protection, preservation, and restoration of the natural environment of the nation’s major rivers and their watersheds. From its single-boat beginning, LL&W has grown to an industrial-strength, internationally known organization with a fleet of barges and workboats.

Its efforts have removed more 14 million pounds of debris from America’s rivers, engaged over 137,000 volunteers in hands-on initiatives, planted more than 2 million trees, and educated 30,000+ students through free educational workshops.
