The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GQCHCC) will soon have a new office.

The chamber is leaving its longtime office at 709 4th Ave., Moline, and moving to 908 1st Ave., Silvis. That new site was a vacant storefront that used to be home to QC Custom Tees, said Jesse Noriega, executive director of the GQCHCC.

The new chamber office in Silvis is currently a work in progress with interior renovations taking place in the building. It is scheduled to be open for business in the second or third week of April.

“The space will give us room to grow. This space is much larger. … We will have the space to actually seat more people,” Mr. Noriega told the QCBJ this week.

Mr. Noriega estimates that GQCHCC’s current office space in Moline has less than 1,000 square feet. The Silvis building will have about 4,000 square feet. That space will be big enough to host future chamber mixer events, business meetings and social gatherings, he said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening for the new office space will be held this spring after the office opens. Those events have yet to be scheduled.

“Our new space isn’t just an address change… it’s a statement. A hub designed to better serve our members, elevate small businesses, host dynamic events, and create stronger connections across our multicultural community. … We can’t wait to open the doors and show you what we’ve been building behind the scenes. This move represents momentum — and we’re just getting started. Same mission. Bigger vision. New space,” according to a recent statement on the Chamber’s Facebook page.

In addition to the move, Mr. Noriega said that the new chamber office will have an added feature – a coffee and energy drink business. Moore Caffeine will expand its operations and add a new location within the new chamber office in Silvis.
