The City of Davenport is now accepting sponsorships for this year’s Veterans Tribute Banner program. Go here to sponsor a banner.
This is the second year for the initiative honoring the men and women who serve in the U.S Armed Forces, both past and present. The Veterans Tribute Banner program allows people to sponsor a banner featuring a veteran or active-duty service member. The banners will be displayed on light posts on the path along the Davenport riverfront stretching from Veterans Memorial Park to the Centennial Bridge.
The city launched the program in late 2024 with up to 50 banners on display in 2025. The program mirrors what other cities in Iowa and beyond have implemented.
Sponsorship of each 18”x 36” banner costs $150, including the design, printing, and installation. A portion of the costs will be donated to the Friends of Veterans Memorial
Park. Sponsorship applications will be accepted until Monday, March 9.
Each banner will include the veterans’ name and rank; military photo; branch of service; and years of service.
This year, 30 banner slots will be available on a first come, first served basis. The application period is from Monday, Feb. 9, to Monday, March. 9.
The 2026 banners will hang from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. After the program ends, the sponsor receives the banner as a keepsake.
