Mental health conference to address anxiety, trauma on March 20

    A community mental health conference focusing on the connection between anxiety and trauma will take place Friday, March 20, at Black Hawk College‘s Quad-Cities Campus.

    The event, “Strength in Numbers – The Anxiety & Trauma Connection: Empowering Individuals, Supporting Professionals,” is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The deadline to register is Thursday, March 5.

    The $45 cost includes a light breakfast, lunch and a professional certificate of attendance. Professional and continuing education credits also are available.

    Conference presentations will cover topics including:

    • The Music & Mental Health Connection.
    • Mental Health Advocacy: Being the Hope Behind the Change.
    • The Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on Our Lives and Communities.
    • From Awareness to Action: Integrating Trauma Informed Care for a Healthier Quad Cities.
    • Solutions for Anxious Times: Community-Based Innovations for Treatment of Anxiety Disorders.
