It’s been a banner year for Marcy Mendenhall with the latest accolade honoring SAL Community Services’ president & CEO for her lifetime commitment to early childhood education.
The Moline-based SAL recently announced that Ms. Mendenhall was honored by the Early Childhood Coalition in Rock Island during its Champion of Early Childhood Education Awards ceremony in October.
The Early Childhood Coalition, which works to identify needs and cultivate resources to support area children and families, presented Ms. Mendenhall with the Lifetime Dedication Award for her longtime leadership in early childhood care across the Quad Cities and surrounding regions.
In May 2025, Ms. Mendenhall was honored as a Woman of Influence by the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal. The QCBJ award honors women who are making a meaningful impact as role models and leaders in their professions and communities.
Additionally, she was recognized by St. Ambrose University with its Distinguished Alumni Award in October of 2024. The award recognized her impact and how she embodies St. Ambrose’s values in the community.
In a news release, SAL Community Services expressed its gratitude for having a leader whose passion and unwavering commitment continue to shape brighter futures for children and families every day.
