Bi-state QC region prepares Veterans Day salute to all who served

    The Quad Cities has a number of events designed to observe Veterans Day and allow Quad Citians to pay their respects to the men and women who served their country. 

    Thhose upcoming celebrations include: 

    • Veterans Day Welcome Home Dance will be from 5:30-10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7,  at Bally’s Quad Cities in Rock Island. It is free for veterans and one accompanying guest. Admission fee is $15 for others.
    • Davenport Veterans Day Parade will step off at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in downtown Davenport. It will begin at West Fourth Street and Western Avenue and end at the Scott County Courthouse.
    • Muscatine Veterans Day ceremony: Lutheran Living Senior Campus, 2421 Lutheran Drive, Muscatine, will hold a ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday. 
    • Bettendorf Veterans Day ceremony: This annual ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Veterans Memorial in the city’s Veterans Memorial Park. The guest speaker is Col. Dan Mitchell.
    • Hero Street USA Veterans Day, 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Hero Street in Silvis. Speakers include Brian Munos, Silvis Mayor Robert Cervantes, Sgt. Maj. Christopher Prosser, and 17 Congressional District U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen, D-Moline.
