MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center is experiencing unprecedented growth in women’s health care services including a baby boom, fueled by new partnerships and advanced technology.

The center anticipates more than 800 births there in fiscal year 2026, in addition to more than 400 GYN procedures, as it continues to expand as a regional women’s health destination.

Building on the success of Dr. May Yazeji, medical director of the Contemporary Obstetrics & Gynecology Women’s Care Center, MercyOne Genesis recently partnered with the Medical Arts OB/GYN group.

The group relocated its offices from Rock Island to the MercyOne Genesis Larson Center in Silvis in July 2025. The physicians now practicing in Silvis include Dr. Justin Hinzman, Dr. Karla Van Keulen, and Dr. Rhonda Freed.

Further spurring growth, particularly in the OBGYN department and general surgery, is the 2025 addition of the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System platform to the Silvis campus.

In fiscal year 2023, there were 153 deliveries, which then rose significantly to 249 in fiscal year 2024. The growth continued into fiscal year 2025 with 451 deliveries. Looking ahead, the department anticipates an impressive jump to more than 800 deliveries in fiscal year 2026.
