Lifted Energy – the coffee and energy drink shop in Moline – soon will be expanding and opening a new location in downtown Silvis.
The coffee/energy drink business, now located at 2430 16th St., is scheduled to open its new Silvis shop at 908 1st Ave. this fall. However, an exact opening date has not been set yet. The Moline Lifted Energy storefront will remain open.
Plans for the new business site were announced late Friday, July 25, during the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s (GQCHCC) After Hours: Culture and Connection Mixer social gathering at the Putnam Museum and Science Center in Davenport.
During that event, Jesse Noriega, the executive director of the GQCHCC, told guests at the mixer that the chamber will soon leave its office at 709 4th Ave., Moline, for a much larger office space in Silvis. Plans are now in the works to move the chamber office to 908 1st Ave., Silvis, which had been the home of QC Custom Tees.
Interior renovation work on that Silvis storefront is expected to begin in August and be complete in 60 to 90 days. Once that work is done, the chamber will relocate there, and Lifted Energy will also open its new shop in a section of that building.
The drink business began as a pop-up shop several years ago. It expanded and moved to its current Moline storefront in 2023. That 16th Street site was the former home of Donuts & More.
“It was a dream of mine to open a drink shop. … Business has been good and we started thinking about opening a second shop,” said Kristine Garcia, one of the owners of Lifted Energy, during Friday’s chamber mixer event.
She added that she recently saw the Hispanic chamber’s social media post stating it was in search of a coffee shop business that would also move in the chamber’s new Silvis site. After seeing the post, she decided it was a good time to expand the business.
In addition to coffee, Lifted Energy also offers Old Towne Bakery doughnuts and many kinds of energy drinks. Some of those drinks include: Sunrise (peach and mango), Yeti ( watermelon, kiwi and white chocolate), Peak (Kiwi and strawberry), Dusk (cranberry, pomegranate, red raspberry) and Eclispe (blood orange and cherry.)
“People are always looking for caffeine – all they can get,” said Lifted Energy co-owner Victoria George.
