DES MOINES – The Iowa Business Council (IBC) announced plans to reveal its annual research report, Iowa’s Competitive Dashboard, to the media and the public on Tuesday, March 10.
The organization’s signature report will be highlighted during a virtual news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10. KENT Worldwide Chairman and CEO Gage Kent, IBC’s current board chairman, will join IBC President Joe Murphy to provide an overview of the findings and recommendations in the annual report, which measures how Iowa competes nationally.
The IBC’s Competitive Dashboard is a unique dataset. It serves as a guide to both lawmakers and business leaders in determining policies that will elevate Iowa’s economy. The organization has released this nonpartisan review of the state’s economic climate annually since 2011.
The Dashboard measures Iowa’s progress in five categories. They are economic growth; workforce and education; governance; health and wellness; and state demographics. Each indicator consists of five metrics. They are averaged to determine Iowa’s overall performance in each category. They range from outperforming, competitive to underperforming.
